About Us
In operation since 1992, K & M provides independent vibration monitoring and pre-blast/pre-construction inspections in the construction, quarrying and mining industries.
Pre-Blast and Pre-Construction Inspections
Pre-blast and pre-construction inspections are performed to obtain pre-construction conditions, and to provide comparative documentation in the rare instance that construction operations impact the nearby structures. This documentation is intended to provide a representative sampling of the current conditions and is not to be interpreted as an exhaustive detailing of all pre-existing deficiencies.
Inspections are offered free of charge to property owners within a pre-determined radius of proposed construction projects. Interior and exterior inspections are carried out using video cameras with voice recording capabilities. These inspections provide a baseline for assessing damage claims following the completion of construction and blasting projects. Inspections of this type are typically performed in response to construction operations and as a requirement of job specifications.
K & M performs pre-blast and pre-construction inspections as an independent, third-party firm. All inspections are kept confidential in our office, for a period of ten years.
Vibration Monitoring
K & M provides seismograph monitoring for construction projects which require blasting for rock removal, as well as for sites using rock breaking equipment or pile drivers. This service is provided to ensure the project remains compliant with project specifications and local regulations.
Along with construction projects, we also provide vibration monitoring for quarrying and mining projects.
Our experienced technicians understand how and where to set up a seismograph to accurately record ground vibrations and noise levels.
Past Projects
K&M Inspection Consultants has provided vibration monitoring and inspections for projects in many industries and locations across Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and New Brunswick.
